Sourdet-Diot

Sitting high up in the hills off the Marne near La Chapelle Monthodon this second generation producer with 10 hectares of vines creates a surprisingly balanced and fruity style of wine. I was particularly impressed with the sugar/fruit/acidity balance in the Brut Tradition and Cuvee Prestige Brut which have 10 and 12 g/ltr respectively. They are a Meunier dominant house although as you scale through their cuvees their wines become more Chardonnay dominant with the Cuvee Elegance Brut being made exclusively from this and matured in oak. The maison is now run by Nadine and Patrick Sourdet’s daughter Ludivine and her husband Damien. I look forward to seeing how the wines and the winery evolve.
