Pol Roger Brut NV

One of many light fresh bottles the day after Lillian dumped me. Somehow didn’t taste as good as it has done previously.

Pol Roger Blanc de Blancs

Bright green, straw gold. Nice green notes on the palate. Very creamy with a bit of bite, but lacking acidity. Do feel the end palate is a little too sweet and unforgiving. With air gaining integrity and balance but still to sweet. Needs time.

Pol Roger Brut

Light straw/pee gold. Very closed on the nose. Dark biscuit front to mid-palate. Creamy. Vibrant lemon zest that dominates the palate a little too much. Picking up a lovely hobnob note with time in the glass.

Pol Roger Cuvee de Reserve Brut

En magnum. Sweet buttered toast nose. Leaking cork. Sexy sweet buttered toast on the nose. Beautiful. Very delicate mousse. No loss of structure. Touch of hob nob. The palate is so sweet! Perfect mature wine. Superb! Especially given it was leaking from the cork! Beautiful brioche notes coming with air. One of the most seductive noses I have ever tried.

Pol Roger Cuvee de Reserve Brut

Deep gold, stewed apple colour. Steady wide stream of tiny bubbles. Heavy oxidation on the nose. Powerful. Creamy front palate. Beautiful mousse. Blackcurrant, green gage. Great minerality and freshness. Almond biscotti note.

Pol Roger Millesime

Lovely biscuity nose. Creamy palate. Beautiful toast. Sitting at a perfect drinking window. Good balance of acidity.
