R & L Legras Presidence Vieilles Vignes 2002

Deep golden. Small bubbles. Lovely fresh buttery nose. Sumptuous creamy palate, deep butter and toasty mid-palate. Mousse is still quite powerful but softening and linking nicely with the mid-late palate. The acidity is surprisingly disguised behind the rich butteryness. This wine has a vinosity on pouring that means it needs a while to settle. Almost a little too well balanced given the vintage. I want more attack. Interesting how the acidity comes with air – giving a touch of bitterness.
