Lovely smokey nose. Soft, sweet fruit. Limited depth mid-palate. Good hot grip to end. Almost a rose bitterness.

Philipponnat Sublime Reserve

Chardonnay. Lovely deep gold. Rich and mature style. Good density on the palate due to the sugar level. Quite an intense density to this wine.

Surprising fresh mineral nose. Creamy. Mineral crisp with a touch of saline. Superb mouthfeel and salinity. This is a fascinating expression of this vintage. Surprisingly mature alongside the 1976 in magnum.

En Magnum. Disgorged 1/10. Insane nose. Almost perfumed again with a sweet Bordeaux note. Sensational freshness. Exotic. Hot and powerful. Great length. Fresh vegetal nose. Superb acidity and almost gaining length with air!

Disgorged 5/13. A touch too much alcohol on the nose. Classic 2000, bold but falls almost immediately in the palate after the mid palate. Texture is impressive on the front to mid palate.

Disgorged 5/13. Touch of burnt match disgorged note. Almost a hint of the 1980 petrol and riesling note. Gaining nutty and biscuit notes. Sensational mousse. Fascinating mid palate, a surprise of fruitiness and white flowers. Almost notes of sweet Bordeaux on the nose. A warmth to this wine that is really surprising. Minerality is serious and a cut above.
